Can anyone give the scoop on LA's Westin?

We can get it for Memorial Day long weekend for $100 a night for our short vacation. We are a young 20 something couple and will have a rental car. What do you think?

Thanks so much for the help!

Weird. The menu counter says 1 response. Where is it???? LOL

DebitNM May 12th, 2007 05:25 PM

Patricia -- Did you use the back arrow to edit your original post? If so, the reply counter will count an extra reply even though it technically isn't one.

Now you should have three.

Thank you, Debit! I thought I was loosing it. :)

I did try to use the back button to add California, but it didn't work.

DebitNM May 12th, 2007 05:34 PM

Not sure where you were trying to add California. I don't think you can edit topic title.

To edit the reply info -- use your back arrow to get to the post a reply screen. Click on preview my reply; then click on edit. Change or add to reply, then click on post my reply. That should work; sometimes you can't get back to post a reply screen if you have moved to far away from it since posting reply.

Phew - hope that makes sense.

OMG, maybe I am losing it. I can't spell either! :-D

which Westin are you referring to? The Westin Bonaventure is neat but the rooms are very small.

Patricia_Green May 14th, 2007 07:13 AM

It is the Westin Bonadventure downtown. There will just be the 2 of us. We've had small B & B rooms before, but it worked out okay since we did little more than sleep in them. How small is "small"?

Maybe I got upgraded, but I had a GIGANTIC suite/room at the Westin the last time I stayed there. They have tons of suites.

Patricia_Green May 14th, 2007 07:30 AM

Mike, did you like the Westin? I have read some really negative reviews on TripAdvisor. There are some good reviews, too, but we all seem to worry about those that say it's horrific, stay away, etc.

mlgb May 14th, 2007 02:25 PM

Just be aware that the parking fee is something like $35/night. Looking at the most recent reviews, they seem fairly consistent (look at the comments not the scores).

My uncle was there for a conference a few months ago, and said it was fine. You're getting a pretty good rate because of the holiday.

BayouGal May 14th, 2007 02:52 PM

Thanks, mlgb! I read about the valet parking fee on TripAdvisor, and to be honest, I only read the reviews and don't even think to look at the rating. That's all so subjective anyway.

PG is my DD. Thanks again.
