According to the San Francisco Airport web page the taxi's can accommodate 5 people going to one destination for the price of one person, but does not mention luggage. We would have one piece of luggage a person..... According to the rates on the web page, we could save about $25 each way by using a taxi over the prices I have been quoted by ground transporation companies..... Any personal experience you would are to share???

Some cab companies have mini-vans which would accomodate 5 people easily, plus luggage if everyone is travelling light. I'd just go to the cab stop at the curb and request a mini-van cab. You may have to wait awhile, but I'm sure you can get one.

Yes, if you tie your luggage to a roof, and put the passenger #5 in the trunk.

I agree with the minivan idea..otherwise it seems impossible to me. Check out Luxor cab or Desoto I think they both have the vans. You might even want to book in advance by giving either one of them a call.

Impossible to answer. How much luggage---are all the passengers adults? When you get here, you will find transportation into the city quite easy. Most of the SF taxis are just standard cars--not vans.
