"camping" "restaurants" "hotels" "help" and other generic titles
 

The United States is a BIG place! Posting a question titled "Hotel Help" will not get you much help since people who know the area probably won't see your question. There are too many threads to read every one so most people skip the non-specific ones. So post titles like "Hotels near Disneyland" "Upscale restaurants in Charlotte" "Camping in Grand Tetons" etc.<BR><BR>

Hey Tom, I'm with you on this one, but if you've seen the famous "please include the name of the place in your post" thread, you'll see that Fodorites are divided; Those who say, yes that's a good helpful comment, those who say it's a lost cause, and those who add nasty comments to threads like this and end up getting them deleted...

I think what's happening is people post their question and click on the state. They think their post will appear with the state header in it when it does not.

Hey, "Helpful," How could anyone who has read any of these messages think that their message will automatically include the name of their state? <BR><BR>What you're really saying is that these people are not only too stupid to put in proper headings, they're also too lazy to read back posts to get a clue about how this place works.<BR><BR>I, for one, skip all those vauge posts. If the poster is too lazy to put together a proper, useful heading, why should I take the trouble to put together a response?

I am wondering how many people actually come back and read the replies to their questions. Especially when they fall from the top 50 posts. For first time users it's not the easiest forum to navigate. Do posts need to be "archived" by Fodors before they are searchable?
