Camping in or near Big Bend National Park
Seeking suggestions for camp sites in or near BBNP. It would be tent camping. Clean restrooms and showers and nearby restaurants, recreational opportunites, Hiking, river runs, etc.
Thanks in advance!

Do you want to camp inside Big Bend NP or be close to restaurants?
The main appeal of this national park is that it's nowhere near ANYTHING. Chisos Basin Campground is the nearest camping area, that has flush toilets and water faucets (there are no showers anywhere in the park), to a restaurant -- and it's 76 miles from that pizza place in Marathon Texas!
A possible compromise is to camp just outside the Park in the town of Terlingua. It has five campgrounds of variable amenities

and a couple of restaurants. I've only visited the Park, so I can't make any statement about the quality of any of the places in this town.
I happen to love camping with minimal facilities, so I'm biased towards camping within the Park

I would camp in the park in one of the developed campgrounds in the Chisos Basin or whichever looks good and/or is available. There are coin operated showers available at the Rio Grand Village store.
