Cameras & Shows
I thought I read somewhere, that you cannot take a camera into a show, that it has to be checked before you're admitted. Is that true? We recently were on a cruise and they announced that no picture taking was permitted during the shows, and people still took pictures. How inconsiderate to the performers. We just want to know so we would leave the camera in the room.

There are two issues, copyright infringements and the distractions of flashes.
|
Is there a place where you check your camera or should we leave it behind?
|
I would never check a camera. And there's no rule about bringing one in. Just don't use it.
|
Thanks, my husband was not fond of having to check his camera either. I am assuming picture taking is banded during the performances.

No cameras or recording devices can be used - but they can be in your purse, etc.
|
Is the camera of a size that can fit into a purse? Or is it a dSLR that has it's own camera bag?
If it requires its own camera bag, that might make a difference. Many places won't question you so if the camera is out of sight (e.g., in a purse) there's not a problem, but if you're bringing in a camera bag, they may tell you it's not allowed. In that case, I would leave it in the room to be safe. |
I just got back from Vegas.
We went to Cher, and they searched all purses and bags. They took my camera and gave it back after the show. If I had known I wouldn't have brought it.However I got it back right after the show, very quickly. We went to 4 shows total, and that was the only one that did that. the rest just said not to use them. |
