Check www.tripadvisor. com. It's a great resource.

I've stayed at Fogcatcher Inn and Moonstone Landing, rated #1 and #2, respectively, by TripAdvisor.

Considering the cost, I wasn't blown away by either of them. I think you would be happy with one of the ocean front rooms at Moonstone Landing (or Pelican Cove Inn). Other rooms at Moonstone Landing are nice enough, but "partial view" means you can see the ocean if you stick your head out the window.

Pelican Cove. Nice, clean, quiet, comfortable. I recommend it.

Blue Whale Inn on Moonstone Dr. is lovely. It has a (rare-for-a-B&B) AAA 4-diamond rating. Beautiful picture window views of the ocean from the public rooms, partial views from the rooms. Incredible gourmet breakfasts and late afternoon wine and snacks.

My husband and I also have a reservation for the pelican cove inn for one night - but in July. I've been vacillating on whether or not to switch to the Blue Whale Inn. Unless I hear something bad about it, though, we'll probably stick with our reservation. Let me know what you decide to do!

Since we are only going to be there for one night i'm leaning towards staying where I have reservations at the pelican cove inn ...i have a partial view but i plan on spending most of my time in the town and the next day at Hearst castle before going back to Carmel. We are going to stay at the Tickle Pink B&B which is much more costly because i thought it would be nice to spend our last night at a really nice place so we have that as our memory. Then back to reality!

Funny - WE"RE also going to stay at the Tickle Pink Inn - on our way up the coast - we're spending a week in Napa & Sonoma and then heading back down and spending the one night at Pelican Cove inn before heading home to Burbank. Have fun!
