Cambria
Where should be stay in Cambria and why do you like it?
|
With my first post it appear that not many people stop at Cambria. I will try once more.
|
Make sure to do a text search as I think there have been recent posts on Cambria. It works both ways not only do people not respond (IMO) when it is a unusual destinations, and also sometimes this happens when it the question is asked often. Sometimes adding more info about your trip, who is going, what YOUR interests are etc..inspires people also. Have a great trip!
Louis,

I recently stayed in Cambria - I'd recommend the Moonstone beach area - there is another part of town that is not on the beach. Stayed at Castle Inn, just a run of the mill motel, but right across from the beautiful beach. A friend in the area recommended the Fog Catcher Inn (they always stay there) - and there were a number of other nice looking B&B's and Inns on the road across from the beach. Cute downtown area with lots of shops, restaurants etc.

If you do a search of this forum using the word "Cambria" you will find lots of info. Definitely stay on Moonstone Beach drive. You can walk on the rocky beach -- it is fun to see sea creatures in the tidepools (starfish, sea anemones) and see the seals on the rocks. It is a couple minutes' drive to the heart of the town. In town, we had a great dinner at Robin's.

Dumb question, maybe, but where is Cambria?
|
It's a little town on the California coast, south of Big Sur.

The Sow's Ear in Cambria is nice.

I agree with Lisa - we had dinner at Robins and really enjoyed it. Had a nice breakfast at another restaurant but I can't remember the name of it.

Louis,
So we meet again! but on the US site. First time I posted here about accommodations in Pismo beach & saw your post. Cambria is great & yes I agree on Moonstone Beach. Check out
http://www.totalescape.com/lodge/C/camb.html We have stayed at Fog Catcher Inn, Whitewater Inn & Sea Otter Inn. Liked them all, Whitewater had the most delicious breakfasts delivered to your room but the rooms at the other 2 were prettier. Also check out Blue Whale Inn www.bluewhateinn.com , the only true B&B on the Moonstone drive & lots of awards. Walk down to Moonstone Bar & Grill, outdoor patio or indoor sitting with piano bar. Town is some touristy shops but some great local artists & unique offerings. Sow's Ear was good for dinner, Brambles we were not so impressed with, there is also a restaurant up on the hill, can't remember name, that offered great views. We like to go for a weekend getaway, very peaceful on Moonstone beach at night & early foggy mornings. We'll be going to the Sandcastle Inn in Pismo next month for a little getaway ourselves! Enjoy! ...Peggy

A few options for less expensive meals in Cambria include Lombardi's ( next to the post office and serves large portions of good pasta). The Main Street Grill at the end of town offers great bbq ribs and outdoor dining at very reasonable prices.

We stayed at Pelican Bay Suites and absolutely loved it. Great location across from Moonstone Beach. Robins was truly memorable. Absolutely loved Cambria and wished we stayed longer.
