calm waters in Kauai?

We will be visiting Kauai for 5 days at the end of April. What part of the island or what hotel is located on calmer water?

This is a seasonal thing as a rule south side is calmer in Winter, North Shore calmer in Summer

Not sure of the name of the beach, but we stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, and it was right next to a beach that is protected and has calm water. It's a public beach with a bath house. It was said to be good for kids and snorkeling.

Lydegate park near Sunspree is always safe (breakwall protects it). Anini Beach on North east shore is also safe all the time (off shore barrier reef).

Also on the north shore, Ke'e beach as well as tunnels beach. Great snorkling at both places.
