Calling Panhandle Fodorites like SunshineSue

Well, I may have found our celebration dinner location. My mother is originally from Hungary, and I found this place Sandor's European Cuisine on County Rd. in Seagrove Beach that does Hungarian food. We will be at the Majestic Sun in Miramar Beach. This would be such a treat for Mom, and I love Hungarian food too. Can't find a home page or menu or anything other than casual reference with average entrees at $30 pp. This would be a major investment for 5 of us, so I want to check out that it would be worth it. Anyone heard of this place?

aliska,
I have never eaten there but after doing a little research, I don't think you could go wrong. It was named by Florida Trend magazine as one of the best restaurants in the state. Look through the following articles and I think you will be impressed. I am. In fact I am going to make it a point to eat there when we are in the area in a couple of weeks. It sounds like reservations are a must. I would also suggest that you call the restaurant well ahead of time and tell them about your Hungarian mother. Sandor might do something extra to make it special for her. (You don't meet many Hungarians in the panhandle!) Have a great time and enjoy Seagrove!

Thanks Sue for the response. I tried calling the restaurant at the number listed on all the articles. It is a pizza shop. When I asked if they knew what happened to the restaurant, they didn't know. I also called 411 and they have no listing. I am still trying to find them, now that I know this existed I am very upset I can't find it. If you find anything out, please let me know, thanks!

Have you tried Chowhound?

Sorry it took so long but this is the number 850-231-2858. If that is the same number you called, you might want to try information.

Sue, I found out through another Chowhound that Sandor closed his restaurant. I can't tell you how disappointed we all are. I am thinking Trattoria Borago, Guigliemlmo's, Rutherford's, AJ's Seafood, and Pandora's all seem to be on the short list (at the moment). We are counting down, less than 3 weeks before we leave. Hope the lack of hurricanes this season keeps up. Thanks!
