I leave tomorrow for a work-related conference in Orlando which includes one day to explore a Disney Park for ideas on creativity. It's my first trip to Disneyworld (I'm 35) and I will have my able-bodied parents and my one-year-old with me. I am curious which park you guys recommend for an adult to explore, keeping in mind that I have never seen any of it before and will only have one day. I'd prefer to pick one and be thorough and leisurely rather than park-hopping with only one day. My parents might come with me and bring the baby, but they are undecided. Either way, the baby won't remember, so I am not too worried about what he'll like! Any helpful thoughts are much appreciated!

Agree....we were just there in December and I loved Epcot although we never made it round to the World Showcase portion. There are some wonderful new innovative rides in The Magic Kingdom, but overall I'd say that Epcot offered the most new stuff. Must do -- Soaring.

If you did not have your 1 year old to consider, I would recommend getting the multi park pass and catching the highlights of EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and the Magic Kingdom. Your 1 year old won't be able to do the 12 hour day.

I agree with earlier posters. EPCOT.

Take turns off ride so that you can be sure and do Soaring, it's the best attraction at Disneyworld.

Great! I love rides, so if parents/baby come with me I will have them watch wee one while I ride. Heard lots of great things about Soarin'.

I agree that Epcot is great for adults, but if you love rides, Epcot has very few. If you've never been it's worth a trip to Magic Kindgom. The creativity ( and marketing genius) will be on full display. No matter what- have fun!

If you like rides, go with Magic Kingdom which has rides of every variety.

Epcot has the most appeal for adults.
I also agree that Soaring is the "must see" attraction. Make sure you all get fast passes for it as soon as you can.

EPCOT, by all means!

Hi bethmac. Certainly not an expert, but if you have only one day and want to do only one park, it has to be Magic Kingdom. You can't go to DW and not go to the MK! Do agree, however, that Soaring was my favorite ride. Have fun!

If you have never been, then go to the Magic Kingdom.

We were in WDW several years ago and Epcot was our least favorite. DH said he wanted to be entertained, not educated, on vacation.

Go to the Magic Kingdom. Get there 20 mintues before it opens if possible (earlier if you don't have your tickets). Rent a stroller ASAP. Head to Fantastyland. 50 mintues after opening, head to Toontown, see Mickey and the characters in the tent. Then go back to Fantastyland. Always have a fast pass going. Get fast passes for all three of you. One adult can watch baby on the adult rides, while the other two ride, then the other can ride. Have fun!

I believe the WDW parks allow you to baby-swap for the rides -- the whole party stands in line together and then one adult rides while the other stays with the baby, and then when the first adult is finished riding, they swap out so the second can ride.

Epcot is my least favorite of the parks.

I'm puzzled at all the Epcot responses. Soarin is indeed fun, and the food is the best thing about Epcot, but I wouldn't spend my only day there. Especially on a first visit.

Go to Magic Kingdom. Your 1 year old will love the lights and the music, even if s/he isn't old enough to really get the rides yet (although you can bring him/her on the majority of rides in the MK).

The Magic Kingdom is what Disney World is all about. The joy of the families around you is infectious.

If your kid will sleep in the buggy, I'd get a park hopper and do both parks. That way there is a little bit of fun for everyone.

with only 1 day and not have seen any of the parks. Magic Kingdom is a a must. Epcot is a good experience, but you are walking around a huge man-made lake as you go by many country. Each Country has about a block and it includes shops, dining, gift from each country. There are a couple of rides, and yes, Soarin is a darn good one.

But, I would definately go to Magic Kingdom and stay the entire day. Even your 1 year old will like part of it. I do think you should consider taking him/her back to the hotel for a nap, unless he/she goes to sleep easily and sleeps well in a stroller. Use Fast Pass.

If I have one day only, I would spend it in MK. Epcot is nice but if you like rides and has never been to Disney, it has to be MK. Nothing beats it and especially if you are looking for creative ideas, MK has plenty to offer. My second choice will be Disney HS or AK.
