Calling Broadway experts!

We are traveling to NYC in August with a 21 and two 19 year olds. Would like to see a Broadway play or musical that everyone would like. We've all seen and loved Les Mis. Any ideas? Thanks.

We saw Oklahoma with our two grown teens (18 and 19) and all 4 of us really enjoyed it. Alice

If you liked Les Mis checkout Phantom of the Opera, still a great evening. If you've seen Phantom, Modern Millie was very entertaining, Full Monty very funny, Producers is tops but tickets are difficult. We didn't care for Mama Mia but many do. The teens would probable like Rent, but I'm not sure if you would. We found Oklahoma, long and heavy but respected the actors and production.

If you want to see a very funny off-Broadway show, check out Captial Step, When Bush Comes to Shove. 2 hours of non stop laughter if you enjoy political humor. Always discounted to $35, small theater on West 42nd Street, runs through late August.

We loved Rent and Oklahoma which we saw with our 16 year old daughter. Don't go see Vagina Monologues...waste of time in my opinion. Rent and Oklahoma are both musicals. Katie

I loved 42nd Street. The songs, the dancing, everything was fantastic. I highly suggest it!

All the Disney plays are great - Aida, Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. Phantom is amazing too. Rent was good too. Am seeing The Full Monty next month - not first hand experience, but have heard it is very good.

Off Broadway - The Tale of the Allergist's Wife is a hoot.

We were in New York City last week with our 19 and 17 year old. We saw, and they loved "Chicago". We had already seen "Les Mis" and "Phantom". "Chicago" is a musical comedy. Very well done. "Millie" and "Oklahoma" are so out of date.

We loved "42nd Street" and have seen "Chicago" several times - our favorite Broadway musical! If Phantom's still playing, that's excellent, too.

My 18 year old son loved Rent but hated Chicago....I think Rent is the safest bet for something you'll all enjoy, or perhaps Phantom. Sandi

Here's another vote for Rent. We just took a nineteen year old to see it and she is STILL talking about it, along with listening to the CD every night.

The modern singing and dancing is really fantastic, but it is a more liberal play, so keep that in mind. I've seen it twice and really enjoyed it both times.
