Calling all Hilton Head residents...
 

We're looking into vacationing in Hilton Head the first week of May 2009. I was there a few years ago that same week and the weather was absolutely perfect. Hot and the water was warm!! Just wondering what the weather, if you can recall, was like this past May.

I've been to South Carolina numerous times, mostly Myrtle Beach, around that same time and have experienced all kinds of weather that time of year. Curious as to what Hilton Head averages in early May.

May and October are the best months here, by far. The weather has been perfect for the past ten days.

We visited Hilton Head 6 years ago in late May (the week prior to Memorial Day) and it was WAY too cold for my liking. I realize it was unseasonable cool for that time of year - upper 60's lower 70's, but I would never plan a trip there that time of year again and risk it. The water was still freezing and you could not go in for more than a few minutes at a time. If you don't care about swimming in the ocean and have a heated pool I guess it isn't such a big deal, but I like the ocean so it was a very disapointing trip (I was was pg w/dd at the time and had been looking forward to it).

I knew there were some websites to find that information but couldn't remember what they were. Thanks for the info.
