Callebaut Chocolate in NYC
Does anyone know if anyone is selling the French- Canadian Callebaut chocoalte in NY? They are now in the USA but appears to be only on the west coast according to their web site and the cost of overnight express, which is the only way they will deliver to the NYC Metro area is crazy!

Call Economy Candy in NYC on Rivington Street. 212-254-1531

If he doesn't carry it, he may be able to order it for you or at least tell you where you can find it, they're VERY friendly and accomodating.

aS cALLEBAUT is all over Boston, I imagine its all over NYC as well. Its also not french-canadian- its belgian. Unless you are searching for Bernard C Callebaut chocolate - who is a relative of the original?

Try a search on Google - I found a million sites through the tricky search of "Callebaut chocolate manhattan"

They have it at Fairway (74th/B'way) and I believe, Dean & Deluca in Soho. At Fairway, they sell chunks of the large 5 lb. bars--it's on the end of the dried nuts/fruit rack by the dairy section.

Bernard Callebaut is who I was /am looking for- he won the international chocolate festival the laswt 3 years and from what I read he is the only North American (Canadian) ever to have been invited. When I did a cyber search I cam up with the denial to import into NJ - and via his web site, shipping charges (overnight only) are wild, I could fly into Canada for less money. King Arthur FLour (.com) carries his chips but that is not the same as his pralines which he has won awards. THe original Callebaut is actually owned by another company now, Suchard Toblerone, so you raise a good point, I want to track down the actual candies, or pralines, not the bulk chocolates...so still open to ideas-
Charles, thanks for the google suggesiton- I'm going to try that next.
