Check travel conditions in Southern CA.
We've been warned for days to watch teh Santa ana winds and they are here.
More than a 1000 people have been evacuated a 2 killed in LA. Fires in northern San Diego around Oceanside Camp Pendelton area with evacuations too.
Some fires have been reported arson related...

Apparently 4 more fires have broken out along the 215 freeway in San Bernardino. Here is a link to CBS2 in Los Angeles for more details:

Assist info items: Verizon has announced it will add home telephone # call forwarding to cell phone for those in evacuated areas.

Also AAA announced any home owner with AAA homeowner ins will pay for hotel fees if fire evacuated.

Call Verizon & AAA for specifics.

Also AA published a list of items to pack in car to prep for fire evac.

This is awful. Another fire. One of them caused by a smoking homeless - this was in the morning news.

Pretty good news on the Camp Pendleton fire which is close to my home although I live on the eastern side of town. One of my friends said the fire was within a mile of her house last night. But this morning they let people in Camp Pendleton, Bonsall and Oceanside to back to their homes. I hope it's not premature. The winds were quiet earlier but have now picked up a little.

A little scary for us here in North County. It's almost a year to the date that all the homes in San Diego County were lost (including Barbara's son's apartment) and my whole town of Fallbrook was evacuated.

FYI at noon I5 North & South closed to traffic due to a NEW fire at Camp Pendelton/Oceanside on both sides of freeway.
