I assume they can go to shows, but I think many people think under21s can "participate" in over-21 activities, which is difficult in Las Vegas.

Ok I see that there are stronger limitations for people under 21 in America than there are in Europe. It will all be part of the experience! We will go still to Las Vegas for a short time because the boys want to see what it is about. We also want to see the desert and hopefully we will visit the Grand Canyon.

Has anyone used a good tour company or transportation from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon?

You can all go to the shows - and for the most part - if you don't look especially young - or have the underage ones try to order a drink or gamble - you can walk around the casinos and enjoy the sights, restaurants, shows, whatnot.

When you arrive - check out the many travel magazines who have all kinds of tours. Just be aware - that daily tours to the Grand Canyon - from Vegas - I believe are mainly by air - which is more expensive. There might be some Coach/bus trips - which you could also google ahead to check out. Driving wise - I think it's about 4-5 hours from Vegas to the GC.

There are a number of companies that offer tours by bus or airplane to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. Make sure the one you choose goes to the Grand Canyon South Rim, NOT the so-called West Rim where the over-hyped Skywalk is located. The South Rim is inside the Grand Canyon National Park.

Any helicopter tour that leaves from Las Vegas does not go to the South Rim, so avoid those.

The tours to the South Rim are:

One-day tour by bus. They will pick you up at your hotel and return you there about 14 hours later. Many include a lunch stop at Williams. Since the drive is 4.5 tp 5 hours each way, you end up with only 3 hours at the Grand Canyon, most of which will be on a bus as well. So ten hours of driving for very little time at the canyon. These start at around $80 per person and you may even find "2 for 1" deals when you arrive. I saw one tour offered that includes a bike ride along 3.5 miles of the Hermit Road ( which is closed to cars). This is more expensive but would give you a better experience.

One-day tours by airplane. These fly you to the Grand Canyon airport at the South Rim, then take you by bus to the canyon rim. You have about 5 hours at the canyon, some of it free time to walk the Rim Trail. You also get nice views of the canyon area from the air. For the same price as the one-day air tour, you can include an overnight stay at the Grand Canyon, which I strongly urge you to consider. You get a lot of time at the canyon, and much of itis free time to explore on your own---even take a hike down into the canyon ( not to the bottom, but partway). They fly you to the South Rim airport, take you by bus to the rim and visit some viewpoints. You check in to you hotel inside the park ( Yavapai Lodge) around 4:00 pm and have the rest of the day free, as well as the next day until departure at 3:30 pm.

Price is $215 to $240 per person, depending whether you do double rooms (2 persons per room) or quad (4 to a room). Considering that this includes you lodging and gives you almost a full day at the canyon, it is well worth it.

You would need to spend the night in Las Vegas after this tour. They do not guarantee a return time to meet a flight out the same day.

There may be an overnight bus tour option as well; I can try to find a price for that so you can compare.
