I am trying to remember the name of that market (big on the tour route) near Los Angeles.

Does anyone know what I am referring to?

Thank you!

Why thanks, dmlove, that's it!

[Such a difficult name to remember, lol]

I have to do a mapquest, but would you happen to know how far of a drive it is from Dana Point to the market?

I'm sorry, I don't know (I live in NorCal). We just happened to have been at the Farmer's Market recently (I've been there twice in my life - once in 1963 and once in 2008!). One thing I do know, traffic on the 405 on a Saturday afternoon was awful (not sure if 5 is as bad).

And there's also the Santa Monica Farmers' Markets on Wednesdays, Saturdays (2 locations), Sundays. The Wednesday market is the biggie, popular with foodies and restaurant chefs who also do demonstrations. Click on "Wednesday" at this link to see the schedule of Wednesday food demos:

dmlove, Yes the traffic can be an experience!

Jean, thanks for the additional market. I used to watch "Two Hot Tamales" and really enjoyed it! Unfortunately we do not arrive until after the 13th, but perhaps we should head to Border Grill for Brunch on the weekend.

I just love markets. Thanks so much!

From Dana Point , it is probably over an hour's drive but not much over unless you hit the drive times. It's about 63 miles but up the 405

I grew up in Los Angeles and love the downtown Farmer's Market! I don't think of it as "near Los Angeles" though, it's about as right *in* LA as you can get!
