California dreaming - but is November a nightmare?

Hi folks,

Wondering about a bike trip either in Sonoma or Napa the first or second week in November. Any comments on the typical weather at that time of year would be greatly appreciated as well as any recommendations for tour companies. As always, thanks!

Well, November is the start of rainy season, so there is definitely more chance of rain than during Apr-Oct. You would want some flexibility and ability to shift your riding days if a storm comes through. It could easily stay completely dry, but I would allow for a day or two of rain in a week at that time of year.

Then again, it could be a year when the rains don't start in November--hard to predict.

I live in Sonoma County. Unless it rains, you can most likely expect foggy mornings, warm days - at least sixty-ish... then cool nights. It's usually not until Halloween that we notice a difference in the evening air. Napa is warmer than Sonoma. You should be just fine for your trip! Good luck!

I agree with the others - as long as you can build some flexibility into your trip in case you need to wait out a storm, go for it.
