California & French Polynesia

Hi Need some help and suggestions for planning my upcoming Honeymoon to California and French Polynesia from the UK in May/ June 2015

Im planning on Flying Directly to Moorea for 4 nights Via LA and Tahiti anf then onto Bora Bora for 4 nights
I will then fly to LA for 3 nights and Drive to San Fransciso spend 3 nights here and Lastly Fly to Vegas for 4 nights and fly back to the UK form Vegas.

Please suggest me if i have planned and allocated enough time in each place and possible day trips i could do from San Francisco
.
The Plan is as follows

Moorea (4 nights) Hilton or Intercontinental
Bora Bora (4 Nights) Four Seasons or Intercontinental
Los Angeles (3 Nights)
Suggest a place to stop for one night on way to San Fran (1 Night)
San Fran (3 nights)
Las Vegas and Gran Canyon (4nights)

Look Forward to some help and advise on best areas to stay.

Hopefully your days/nights aren't set in stone. I'd cut one night from Las Vegas and add it to the drive up the coast from LA to San Francisco.

The drive is slow and the scenery is amazing. If you drive the entire coast from say Santa Monica to SF it takes 10 or 11 hours w/o stops so w/ just one overnight you won't have much time to explore Big Sur, or Carmel or Monterey or Santa Barbara or vineyards or much of anything.

I agree with Janis. Cut a day, or 2 from Vegas. Unless you cut out LV entirely, you don't have much time for day trips from SF.

I agree with the above. I would do some cutting, at least 2days from LV, adding to SF and take the 4hr drive to Yosemite for a night: http://www.yosemitepark.com/default....FQuOaQodaSgAkA

Just FYI, if your drive up the California coast falls between Thursday and Sunday (and especially Friday/Saturday), you may have trouble finding a hotel that doesn't require a 2-night stay.

Also, particularly in June, our coastal weather pattern is often heavy fog in the morning with clear skies not until mid-to-late afternoon.

The waterfalls in Yosemite would be at their near-peak levels at that time. Gorgeous. Lots of wildflowers, too.

It sounds like you will be exhausted during and immediately after the honeymoon!

Certainly you will be jet-lagged through most of it.

Agree that you should cut out Las Vegas entirely and spread the time over California to allow for a more relaxing time together.

Wow thanks for your help. And Yosemite looks amazing. My fiancée really wants to go to Las Vegas and see the gran canyan too. Initially we hadn't planned to do the drive to san francisco but I've heard it is a very scenic and beautiful drive so we decided to add one night to our honeymoon to be able to do the drive instead of flying, however if we decide 2 nights now-where would be the best town(s) to stay.

It's ALL amazing (Grand Canyon, Los Angeles, the drive up the coast, San Francisco)... it's just you have a LOT on your plate in a very short period of time.

If you can do two nights along the coast, I'd stay in Cambria and Carmel, both pretty and romantic although Pacific Grove near Cambria has some nice B&Bs (just not a B&B person myself). Try and spend an hour in Santa Barbara, very pretty with the red tiled roofs and Spanish style architecture.

I'm sure jamie99 meant to say "Pacific Grove near Carmel."

Which area would you suggest as to stay in Los Angeles? Don't need too much beach as we would just have come back from French Polynesia
