Calif Wine Cntry/Tastings Reservations
I was out in the wine country about 4 years ago but I understand that now you need to make reservations for the tastings ?? Anyone know about this ??

We usually go to the Russian River, Alexander, and Dry Creek Valley areas of Sonoma near Healdsburg. Some wineries are open and others you have to call ahead and make a reservation.
Here's a couple of links: http://www.visitwineroad.com/ http://www.wineroad.com/ One of my favorites, A. Rafanelli, you have to make a reservation. Well worth it. They make great Cabs & Zins. ((b)) |
We were recently in Sonoma (ravenswood winery) and Napa (Robert Mondavi winery).
No reservations necessary, unless you want a private tour and tasting. |
Did Russian River Valley and Sonoma last early June Tuesday thru Sat. and didn't need reservations at the ones we visited. Do call ahead to check hours opedned as I had to BEG to get us in Gary Farrell. Well worth the humiliation!!!

Only the smaller wineries require reservations. Check out www.napavalley.com or www.napavintners.com for hours and appt info.
Don't forget Sonoma and Kenwood--just had lunch there (Cafe Citti in Kenwood) and picked up wine at Kenwood, Blackstone and Benziger (a must see!). Kandi |
Thanks
