Last time I was at Crater Lake was on a ranger guided snowshoe hike. I never did stop in Ashland to see Lithia spring.

I'm hoping the Fish & Wildlife Service gets a new collar on OR-7 this spring.

A that time of year I personally don't think Crater Lake is 'worth' the detour/trouble it takes to get there.

I am happy to see somebody say this because I see Crater Lake promoted too often on this forum when there are other attractions that are more accessible or more spectacular
--or both.

When you say "southern Oregon" do you mean the coast drive or inland?

We enjoyed Ashland ... Shakespeare Festival should be in full swing during summer & there are some charming places to eat (Peerless Hotel was a favorite, & we stayed there too).

We also enjoyed the coast ... stayed at Gold Beach (TuTuTun Lodge) and spent a day on the jet boats. Fun!
