Cake Boss
We're headed to NY and of course my kids want to know if we can go to Carlo's Bakery (yes I know it is in NJ). Any suggestions of how to get there from NYC and or time of day etc?

You can take the PATH train from midtown Manhattan to Hoboken and then walk a few blocks to the Carlo's Bake Shop.

Have no clue what this place is - but I can;t imagine any bakery is worth spending a couple of hours trekking to NJ. (And have read there are huge lines to get in.) What does he do anyway?????

LOL, he has a TV show. Kids get a kick out of that kind of stuff. I didn't realize it would take a long time to get to. If we do go, you can order whatever online and just pick it up instead of standing in line.

It does not take "a couple of hours" to get to Hoboken (it's right across the Hudson River, but it is what we call in NY a "bit of a shlep" Figure 40 minutes each way depending on where you start
Fans go there and say its worth it, other think it takes too much time out of an already packed NYC plan |
take the tunnel to jersey city and just follow the signs to hoboken...its on the main street near the end on the left... i was there in april on a saturday at 3PM and the line was over 45 minutes... we walked away..

Was not suggesting that it took that long to get there - but apparently there are very long lines to get in as well.

Have been there a few times with my daughter, it's just a busy bakery but she loves seeing the regular workers who have become TV stars. If you must go, get there as early as possible, they open at 7 AM. If you get there at 7, the line will be at least a half hour.
