Cafe Europa
I read somewhere that the Cafe Europa in New York is closed. Does anyone know if it's just one or all of them?
|
I just went to the one on 57th street a few weeks ago...as far as I know THAT one is still open.

If whether or not any or all Cafe Europa outposts in NYC are open for business is so important to you, why not just pick up the phone and call?
|
Sure, there are a bunch of them. I haven't noticed any being closed.
|
If you would like to place a call, the number to the 57th St. restaurant is 212-977-4030. The one at 6th is 212-575-7272.
Hope the 57th street one is indeed open, it was a nice place for a quick late night dessert/coffee in that area. |
djkbooks, why shouold I make a phone call when I can chat with such nice, friendly people as you?
|
There are Cafe Europa locations throughout Manhattan -- one being close to my office on 6th and 46th. As far as I can tell, they're all open. Why is this so important? It's not as if this is a culinary experience -- glorified deli in my opinion.
|
It's not all that important. I read somewhere that it was a good place for a quick breakfast near where I will be staying, then on another quide book site it said that it was closing. I just asked a simple question, why is everyone getting so bent out of shape. I thought this was a nice friendly chat site.

I walk by the CE on 57/7th every day and it is open.
However, if that is the area where you are staying, FAR better is Pain Quotidien on 58th. |
Leona - is the Pain Quotidian 58th a newer location? I absolutely love this cafe. Last time we stayed on the East side and went to the one on Lexington (between 63rd and 64th street). Where is the one on 58th? I googled it but I think the info was old. I want to add it to my NYC notes for our next trip as the 58th st. local (even if it's west) might be closer for us. Thanks!
