Cacti in bloom

Planning a trip to Arizona, Phoenix/Scottsdale - would like to be there when the cacti bloom. Anyone know what month - I believe it is in early April??

Small ones start blossoming in February, bigger ones later in the spring ... usually the best saguaro blooms are May and perhaps early June. Early April you won't find any saguaro blooming but should find something like barrel cactus in bloom ...

Giant sahuaro cacti bloom at night and fertilization is done by bats. By mid-morning, the blossoms close. Prickly pear open their blooms during the day and close at night.
