omni or westin in san diego

omni or westin in san diego
I will be traveling to San Diego with my husband and 2 teenage daughters in December. I have researched hotels and have narrowed it down to the Westin and Omni. I like the area, but can't decide between the 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Omni is really nice... I stayed there a few months back. Last time I stayed at the Westin it was sort of dated and 'funky'.
Having said that, the Westin has a great location for tourists.

My wife and I were at the Omni a few weeks back and it's a great hotel. It's right next to the trolley line, is connected to Petco Park, and is a block from the gateway for the Gaslamp section of downtown. I'm not familiar w/ the Westin.

I stayed at the Westin Horton Plaza in November. Yes, the hotel shows signs of age, but I would chalk that up to charm. The location is excellent and the rooms are spacious and comfortable...you can't beat the Heavenly Bed!
