Cabin in Northern Maine

I am planning a trip with my husband and my parents. We are going from Boston, MA through Maine, through parts of Canada to Niagra and down to PA - DC then back to VA Beach.
I already have all the stops planned but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places to find a cabin in Northern Maine, we will be coming from Kennebunk, travelling to Quebec City so somewhere in between. I have never been to the North East before so know very little about Maine but was hoping to rent a cabin with mountain views like I have done previously in the Blue Ridge.

Any areas/town suggestions would be great so I have a starting point! Thanks!

Acadia is certainly not between Kennebunk and Quebec City, but then your recent suggestion for a New England question was to discuss repeatedly Nova Scotia PEI. It was nice of you to top the thread though.

I would look in the area of one of the ski mountains like, Sugarloaf Mt. or Sunday River. There are probably places near that people rent when they're not skiing.

I love the look of Sugarloaf in the winter when the top above the tree line is snow covered, haven't seen it without snow.

"Acadia is certainly not between Kennebunk and Quebec City"

Inuk, I didn't say that it was.

Acadia National Park is a destination location for many. If I were taking a return trip to Maine, I'd be making a return trip to Acadia.

But thanks for your critiquing of others' posts and recommendations. You're doing a great job as Hall Monitor.

Well if you are heading north through maine to Quebec then see how far Moosehead lake is off your route. I know the owners of the Cozy moose cabins (good people) and while I've never stayed there I think once you get there you would agree the views are very nice in that area. Also a ways north from there is mount Katahdin that all of the other hills in Maine measure themselves against... But if you gave what route you were going to take then it would give the "helpers" an idea of where to offer suggestions for.

I found one in Bethel, I've never been or really heard of it but it's on our route the cabin is within our budget, called 'Bethel Chalet' looks lovely, I wish we had more time to head up the coast more too as Acadia NP looks lovely! Thanks for your responses
