Has anyone seen cabaret, playing at studio 54? I was wondering if the setting in the theater was like the first one where you set at tables and could order drinks? Thanks,<BR>Diane

Yes, it is set up like a nightclub, with a few exceptions.<BR><BR>The back part of the orchestra has higher tables than those in the front. In the balcony, it is regular theater seating. The front seats do have a small table next to them with a antique looking lamp. The back part is your traditional theater seating. Or as Alan Cummings yelled to them when I first saw the show "Hello, poor people."<BR><BR>In terms of drinks, you can bring them to your table. I don't beleive there was waitress service during the show, but not 100% sure.

I recently saw Molly Ringwald in Cabaret and sat a table right in front of the stage. Waitress service is available before the show, after which point you must get up and go to the bar at the back of the theater for more booze. Many people hit the bar during intermission. I don't recall if the waitress returned after the show -- probably not as most everybody got up and left. I strongly suggest paying a little extra to sit on the floor level at a table. It was great and you felt like part of the action. <BR><BR>Be advised that drink prices are OUTRAGEOUS, even by New York standards. One apple martini from the bar during intermission cost $17. Great show, though.<BR><BR>

Seating at the tables are not comfortable, close together and the wood chairs are more fitting for a Quaker Service- saw Cabaret 2 times as studio 54 and loved it - second time sat on the sofa - VERY COMFORTABLE - tables at each end, wait service - and the show was great -

So which seats are the best to view the show - any suggestions? I don't really care about the comfort of the chairs and waitress service. Thanks.

I recommend something towards the center. We were at a small table right in the front, but on the side. I felt we missed getting the big picture.<BR><BR>The tables were pretty crowded but I didn't notice that they were uncomfortable. <BR><BR>I agree. A fantastic show -- just what Broadway is all about.
