cab fare

Hi, everybody! I am going to NYC for the first time and it looks like I am to need a cab ride from LGA to Brooklyn (namely 1800 80th St). I have no idea how much it is going to cost and how much cash to take for that. Or if there is a better option to get to Brooklyn. Please help me out here. Thank you very much.
Alex

I can't help you with the fare amount but much depends on the day and time. If it's a high traffic it will be slow go, therefore higher fare. You could also check with car service companies (fixed rate) such as Tel Aviv, Carmel or Allstate.

It is doable on the bus/subway for $2, but would be a lengthy trip. Take the M60 bus from LGA to Astoria Blvd in Queens. Change to W train dowtown, and take it all the way to 79th and New Utrecht in Brooklyn. A long trip through Manhattan and then to Brooklyn. Try a car service, as MFNYC recommends.
