ca. wine valley restaurants

Will be in the valley at the end of july for our 25th and just found out the French Laundry is closed. What is the second best romantic restaurant in the valley?????

What do you mean the French Laundry is "closed"???

For that particular date, for the week or forever???

I'm getting scared! Their website says they are only closed the first two weeks in January...perhaps they have changed their policy?

Only asking since we are planning a repeat trip next year and will be planning dinner there again.

Sheli

How about Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford? By the way, Napa Valley is not the only "ca.wine valley" in the area. Sonoma Valley, 30 minutes from Napa, is also renowned for its wines.

For romantic, try Domaine Chandon

Second Domaine Chandon in Napa Valley or Madrona Manor in Healdsburg in the Sonoma wine area. Yes, there are many, many wine areas in CA---even down in Monterey County and near Santa Barbara. The grapes love it here. Enjoy.
