Look at the rental car agency's website. There will probably be several options in the city. Oftentimes the rental car desk is a small glassed in room in a parking garage. Well, not "small" but in the corner of the ground floor of parking garage. Very convenient.

I would think about staying somewhere other than Napa for your wine country part of the trip. There are towns in the wine country with more charm, better countryside/winery views and better eating choices than Napa. I would choose Yountville, Calistoga, St. Helena, Sonoma, and Healdsburg over Napa.

I live and work in the Palo Alto area and love eating out here, but have to agree with sf, that downtown Burlingame would offer just as goood dining choices closer to the airport and probably be more convienent.

What time does your flight leave on Tuesday? If it is late enough you could spend that last night out on the coast in the Half Moon Bay area. If your budget allows, the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay would be a killer way to end your trip. If the logistics work out try to stay someplace other than the airport.
