C or C

We have reservations at the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada, Florida in November. There are so many mixed reviews on the Cheeca we were thinking of switching to the Casa Morada. Could anyone give me input on which is the better place to stay. We picked the bungalows becasue it was adult. We like quiet and relaxing but we like a place where there are things to do.

I mean this in the most helpful way possible, but there's no way that people who have knowledge of those two places will open this thread. The title "C or C" says nothing at all about what you really need help with. You'd be doing yourself a huge favor to repost this message with a descriptive subject line so that people who have the knowledge you seek will know to open the message.

When I saw this title, I thought the question would be about cash or credit. Please do repost.

"And thank you for the suggestions."!!?

lindafromNJ Aug 30th, 2005 08:33 AM

Thanks to all that have been helpful with suggestions with the exception of GoTravel who is always snotty in responses to my posts.

I have re-posted and would like opinions from those that know.

GoTravel Aug 30th, 2005 08:40 AM

GoTravel was funny, not snotty.

And the only reason I opened it (and probably the others too) was that I knew the subject was completely undescriptive and was curious. But I can't help you with your question. ;)

Your goal in posting, I imagine, is to get as many of the people here who have knowledge about your subject to open your post. I can assure you that not nearly as many people here read as many posts or have the curiousity about these posts that I do, so many of them who might be able to help you will actually not open it if the subject doesn't sound like something they're familiar with.

Hence, the helpful advice to repost, which I see you have.

wow, linda, you have been posting on Fodors long enough to realize that the title was terrible..but we all goof now and then.
but to start calling long time posters names because they remark on it?

To All:

I have posted on this web site a long time and enjoy it very much as well as find it helpful. How you feel about a response (just as you felt about mine)is how the person receiving it perceives it. In the past when I posted on this subject GoTravel was quick to correct a typo or spelling when it was known what was meant. That was not the subject at hand the correct spelling. Also I re-asked the same question a secocnd time as obviously I wanted more input and got this response from Go Travel

It is Cheeca Lodge and again, the beach bungalows are nicer than the rest of the accommodations

I felt like Gotravel was saying I am telling you this again what you did not believe it the first time around. I found that offensive.

I am not going to continue this post as my intention is to get information not battle.

If I offended anyone it was not my intend, but I felt offended by Gotravel.

Jocelyn_P Aug 30th, 2005 09:13 AM

It's offensive that someone corrected your spelling of a destination? How are you supposed to research the place if it's not spelled correctly?

sam Aug 30th, 2005 09:27 AM

Have you tried www.tripadvisor.com? They have specific reviews from people who have actually stayed in each of the places you are asking about.

lindafromNJ Aug 30th, 2005 10:22 AM

Thanks Sam I have looked at trip advisor and it was helpful. I was looking to get a little more input if possible.
