BWI to DC?
How far is BWI Airport to Washington, DC, and what is the best way to get there? (Just got MJ/Wizard tickets!)

Cheers,

Gerry K

I don't know the detail but form the airport there is a very quick shuttle ride to the train station. You can take a train into DC. The airport may have the specifics on their web site.

Try this link. It has all the info you need.http://www.bwiairport.com/frames/1_washington.html
BWI is two miles from the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. The BW Parkway will take you into DC. In DC, the BW Parkway is called New York Avenue. New York will lead you to the heart of the city.

Hi

BWI Airport is about 25 miles out of Washington, DC approximately and quite a bit closer to Baltimore. I would take the MARC train if the you arrive on a weekday ($4 one way), otherwise Amtrak runs quite regularly on the weekend ($20 one way). Check www.mtamaryland.
com for the MARC train schedule (Baltimore Penn Line) or
www.amtrak.com for Amtrak schedules. There is a shuttle also-- and a taxi would run you AT LEAST $50 I would say.

Good luck DAN

Thanks, Folks

GK

Gerry K.:

I would take a MARC local (Maryland local train)Mon-Fri - nice, I use to commute this way from Baltimore to D.C. Amtrak has busy train traffic all up the East Coast, I'd check if they stopped at BWI, the taxi fare is outragous $50 to 60.

Perhaps I'd be better off flying into Dulles. How close would it be to MCI Center, and how would I best get there?
And thanks to all for your help.

Gerry K

If I had to pick, I would choose BWI, taxis and shuttles into the city from either airport will be similarly expensive. BWI has the advantage in that it gives you the MARC/Amtrak option which will drop you off at Union Station, which is very close to MCI Center (2 stops away by subway).
