buying wdw tickets before we come over

we are coming to orlando in florida should we buy tickets before we go or wait ill we are over there?what do you think

Go to this site for lots of information-www.mousesavers.com. there may be a special deal for travellers from the UK. Welcome

There's no good reason to buy tickets in advance. If your travel plans change, you're in for a big hassle and that isn't worth the 2-3 minutes you save not buying at the ticket counter at WDW. I've been to the park 20+ times and have never waited more than 3-4 minutes to buy my tickets.

we have been to orlando from the uk many times ,it can be an advantage to buy your tickets before you go as the prices for multi day tickets are quite competitive(go to the travel agents and ask fot there theme ticket booklet NOT the one in your holiday brochure )

also bear in mind the exchange rate can change for the worse and if you are going to spend a few hundred dollars on tickets you will get burned(not to mention the commision you have payed on that money in the first place)

my best piece of advice is DON'T BUY TOO MANY there is only so much you can see

Dear Der

I would cost out your options. On the exchange rate today you could get $1.42 for every Pound. The exchange rate fluctuates everyday. So in my thinking if they do not charge you to much commission to purchase dollars there its going to save you money to wait and buy your tickets here. Another thought, if it is cheaper to purchase American Express dollar travelers cheques do that. You can use them over here anywhere and you would have the added safety of replacing them if lost. Whatever you choose, have a great trip and welcome.

Peace, Robbie

Certainly check out the site www.mousecodes.com to see what specials are in operation at the time you are going. I have heard, also, that some Disney Stores offer discount tickets (true of Canada in late 2001) but I don't know if this applies to the UK. Most importantly, before you order from home, do your sums and make sure that what you save by ordering early you don't lose because of someone fiddling with the exchange rate.

I can't speak for outside of the U.S., but I know that a few years ago when we went, the sales tax in Michigan was only 4% as opposed to the 6% that Florida had. So, even though it wasn't a huge sum of money, it did save us a few $$$ by buying them at home first.
