Buying tickets on-line

Anyone ever used "CheapTickets.com". If so, would you recommend it?
Thanks,
M.

I used to use that site often (~10 yrs ago) but lately haven't been able to find a cheaper price there vs. directly through the airline website which often gets you a FF bonus. I'd consider it reputable but I haven't used it in a while for pricing reasons. If you found a bargain then go for it.

Agree with Loki - I used to use it but have found better deals on other sites. It is completely legit, so I wouldn't worry about making any transactions through it. I prefer sidestep.com, qixo.com and other sites to find the best deals.

I used to use them. Loki and lizzie are right; nowadays it's smarter to use a website like sidestep.com to compare rates, then go to the individual airline websites to nail down the right itinerary and fare. Besides, since JetBlue and Southwest are major carriers in my area, I can't use CheapTickets or any of the other consolidators to look at their fares; I have to work with their websites.

Another thing: What if there's a problem, or you need to make a change? The airlines may not be the easiest to work with in such a situation, but the consolidators are many times worse.

CT is owned by Cendant and is pretty closely related to Orbitz (also Cendant.) Entirely reputable. They may or may not give any different results than Orbitz on the same itineraries.

I have had some bad experiences with them in NYC, some of the worst hotels I have ever been in. I had a decent experience with them in New Orleans.

Staying in bad hotels that you reserved through an online travel agent has nothing to do with the agency - it just means you chose bad hotels.
