BUT I WANT TO SEE "O"
I'm taking my wife to Las Vegas for her birthday in April. We are going to take time for one show. After reading all the postings here, I would really like to see "O". But my wife doesn't really want to see it. She wants to see something with showgirls. What do I do? After all it is her birthday (as well as her first time to Vegas). Any suggestions on which show to see or any dining suggestions?

It is her birthday so she should get to choose. I am sure you will save alot of money, too. I would suggest Circo at Bellagio's for a nice birthday dinner.

Tell her the showgirl shows are really cheesey and that there is no show like "O" anywhere and people really have a hard time getting tickets so she will be lucky if she even gets to see it! I second the dinner at Circo, when we are there on my birthday-we eat in Circo and sit by the window, you get to see the fountains that way..the service is great and if you tell them ahead of time it is her birthday, they will do something special,at least they always do for me!

Mike, does she have an actual reason she wants to see a show with dancing girls as opposed to something genuinely innovative and enthralling?
Have you tried explaining to her the difference?
I think if she actually KNEW what she is asking for, she'd change her mind.

O is such a unique and entertaining show. Buy the tickets and surprise her, she will love it once she sees it. Do dinner somewhere in Bellagio before or after the show. Prime, La cirque or Picasso are all very good.

"O" is an awesome show. Seems like everyone I've talked to who has seen it feels the same way. I would think she'd enjoy it.

Mike, it is...HER birthday!
but let her read the favorable postings about it, so she may reconsider.

Go ahead and purchase the tickets to "O". It's a show like no other. I see it everytime I get to vegas (3 times so far). Spell-binding!

Mike, most of the hotels (and even the airport) have those free magazines in their lobby. I can't remember the names, but you'll see them near the check in desks. Several of them have coupons for buy 1 admission get 1 free for the type of shows you mentioned (not O, but the showgirl ones). Or, some of them are free admission, but each of you must purchase a drink. I haven't done this myself so I can't comment on the shows; however, this may be a good way for you to do both without spending much more money. Good luck.
