My wife and I are going to St Louis in a few weeks....I want to see a game at the new stadium and it will likely be a July 2 day game - so it'll be hot.....i'm want to try and be nioe and scalp ahead of time tickets with more shade for a 1:15 first pitch...anybody in st louis have any advice on 1st base line or 3rd base line for shadows? Loge box? field box? terrace box? thanks for any help on this.....

I have only been to the new stadium once in the evening. But I am guessing that the first base line will start to shade over before the 3rd. the higher up you are the more shade.
Having said all that, I will inquire with some season ticket holders and post back.

I was just at a day game at Busch. We were in the outfield, right field to be exact. And as the sun went down, everything across from us was in the shade, along the first base line. As far as what sections, etc, I don't know about that, but it seemed that most of the stadium was in the shade midway through, except may the left field bleacher.
I'll be at the July 2 game too. Good times.

Here's what I saw based upon a 1:15 start game I went to at Busch III about two weeks ago.
Upper Deck: 454 through 434 should be in the shade. However as you go around the bend sections 433 through 428 were mostly sun except for the very top few rows.
Upper Deck Boxes: 372 through 369 and 360 through 354 will be in the sun. 368 through 361 and 353 through 334 should be okay. 333 through 328 will also be in the sun.
Loge Boxes: anything from 272 through 241 should be okay. 240 to 228 should be in the sun.
Field Boxes: 172 through 152 should be okay. 151 through 127 will be in the sun.
Bleachers: all 500 sections will be in the sun.
However if you do end up in the sun there are a lot of decent standing room areas that are shaded. That's what we did two weeks ago when sitting in section 356.
I'm not offering any guarantees, but hopefully this will help.

I was at a day game a couple of weeks ago, on the first base side, field boxes. We did not get any shade the whole game.
I went with a friend using her season tickets. I'll try to find out what section they are in and post back.

Just looked at Busch seating chart. I guess we were in 132. It never was shady. It was, however, one of those "business man specials", so I think it started an hour earlier at 12:10. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for shade there though.
Have to say it...GO CARDS!

Revisiting this topic - it's not clear to me whether you want to be on the 1st or 3rd base side for better shade. What are the best seats (i.e. closest to the field) that you can get where you will still be in the shade?
Thanks!
Thanks!
