Busch Gardens Virginia
 

Hi all,<BR>I'm in the beginning stage of planning a family (myself, hubby, 14 & 16 year olds)trip for next spring to Washington, D.C. and then south to Williamsburg, Virginia. Thinking of staying 3 nights each place.<BR>Upon searching here, I've come up with great tips for Washington.<BR>My first question: How far apart are Busch Gardens and "historic" Williamsburg? Where is the best suite hotel, location wise, to stay if we want to be near Busch Gardens? If my thinking is wrong here, let me know. Just thought that since we would be at Busch Gardens for 2 days, this would be the place to be closest to.<BR>Any advice from you all would be appreciated.<BR>Thanks!

Julia,<BR><BR>Wmburg is small town and everything is minutes from everything else. I'd say it's less than a 10 minute drive between the two. Let your hotel preference dictate where you stay.<BR><BR>Busch Gardens is usually open only on the weekends in the early part of the season.

We stayed in the Quality Suites twice. We got a good rate, you get two rooms, so our son could stay in the living room, and breakfast was complimentary. <BR><BR>Both attractions are close by...there are restaurants in walking distance for dinner.

You might check out renting a condo/timeshare at Fairfield Patriot's Place. We just stayed there with two teenagers. There's a large living room with TV and VCR; dining room; and fully stocked kitchen. Separate "mini suite" for the teens, with their own full bath, TV/VCR, and mini-kitchen (sink, small fridge, dishes, microwave). Big master bedroom with full bath for you and your husband, plus a big hot tub! Private balcony, quiet, tree lined area, swimming pool and other activities on site. Less than 10 minutes from Busch Gardens, less than 5 to Colonial Williamsburg (the Visitor's Center you could walk to). We paid $225 a night for the accommodations described above. Not the cheapest in town, but wonderful especially with teens!!!

We (husband, 15 year old son and I) were in Williamsburg for a week in June. We stayed at The Kingsmill Resort. Closest resort to Busch Gardens. They offer a shuttle to the park if you don't have a car or choose not to drive over. We had a lovely one bedroom condo which was quite large. The resort has just about everything you could want. Three golf courses, tennis courts, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi, marina, restaurants, bike rental. Less than a ten minute drive to Colonial Williamsburg. Kingsmill is a bit pricey, but I can highly recommend it. <BR><BR>
