Bus or Train from Detroit to Chicago

I have been hearing rumors of a new transportation (not sure if it's a train or bus) linking Detroit area and Chicago that is supposed to be super cheap and fast. Anyone have more details???

It certainly seems better than Greyhound, and cheaper than Amtrak, but fast it isn't, really. The base trip Detroit to Chicago take 5.5 hours (I'm guessing that's with no traffic delays), and could be driven by car in closer 4 hours and 15 minutes in no traffic. But the bus will hit the same construction delays as a car, so at least for the summer will probably take considerably longer than scheduled.

Still, not a bad option for someone without a car and with limited budget.

Thank you for the link, "joethekay" .. got a trip to Chicago for 4 days in May and wanted to get up to Milwaukee ... for a couple of dollars, we'll try the bus, we were going to use Amtrak or see if commuter rail is in service yet.

Has anyone tried this yet?
