Bus Day Trips From Las Vegas
Will be in Las Vegas in October for a business convention and won't have a car. Any suggestions for a good day trip and/or one overnight trip that includes transportation?

Red Rock Canyon, Velley of Fire, Lake Mead, and Hoover Dam are some nice day trips.
Grand Canyon is would be more of an overnight trip. |
We've done a day trip to Grand Canyon from LV. Long day, but if you think you'll never get there otherwise, well worth it.
We did go back a couple of years later & stayed overnight at El Tovar. It was awesome. |
Thank you. Do you have any suggestions which guided tour operators are best?

It's better to make reservations once you get there through your concierge. Some companies don't pick up from all hotels, so if you reserve now you may be told to get to another hotel to be picked up there. The price is practically the same. If you decide to do both Red Rock and Valley of Fire do the Red Rock first as the Valley is much more spectacular and you may not like Red Rock after seeing the Valley. As I remember the Valley of Fire tour includes a lunch with a stop at Lake Mead. Never been to Hoover Dam, it may be done with or without Ethel M chocolate factory - you can find recommendation to see the cactus garden here, do a search on this forum.

I've used this company twice during trips to LV, and have found them to be very professional, the drivers very knowledgeable and informative of the area and our destination, and the vehicles were spotless. They have several tours to chose from, and I've been on the Grand Canyon West tour and the Valley of Fire tour. Their web address is www.actiontours.com. Have fun.

I booked the Grand Canyon South Rim bus tour (with stop at Hoover Dam) through www.grandcanyontours.com. The tour operator was Showtime. The tour picked us up from the hotel at 6:30AM, and we got back around 10PM.
