Burlington VT day trip
We may be visiting Burlington, VT in October and I noticed that Montreal was only 100 miles away; maybe 1 1/2 hour drive. I have always wanted to go there. Is it worth the trip just to visit the city for the day. Just for shopping, eating and sightseeing. Thanks. We will have a rental car and all have passports.

We are from Toronto, Ontario and we love Montreal! We may be going to Montreal in October enroute to Burlington, VT too.
Lots of great restaurants and shopping too in Montreal. Not sure what type of sightseeing you are looking to do? |
Check to see if rental company allows car to be taken into Canada.

Easy drive up to Montreal from Burlington.....be mindful of time needed for crossing the border....lines can be long and slow.
|
Go for it! Locals do it all the time. Its a great city. Ditto checking with your rental car company to make sure you can cross the border with your rental.

We go from Montreal to Burlington frequently, and it usually take 2 to 2.5 hours. We cross at Champlain(US87, and take Route#2 through the Champlain Islands.
Another option is to take the ferry from Burlington to Pt.Kent. From Plattsburgh to Montreal is about 100 kilometers. |
