Burlington Vermont dinner suggestion?
We were planning on dinner at Smokejack's in mid-Sept, but learned that it is closed due to a fire! The recording on the phone just says it will be open soon, not when.
We would like to eat downtown on our first (of two) nights in Burlington as we will be driving all that day to Vermont from NJ - second night will probably be at Kitchen Table, which sounds wonderful! Looking for a relaxing atmosphere and excellent food. Dorothy |
It's been a while since I was there, but New England Culinary Institute used to have a great restaurant downtown on the pedestrian mall. I can't say for sure if it's still there, but it's worth looking into.

Thanks - and I ate there a few years ago and it was great. But it's closed now!

Try A Single Pebble. You'll need a reservation. Authentic chinese. It's excellent.

I agree A Single Pebble is very good if you like Chinese. Leunig's Bistro on Church street ia another downtown option
|
I appreciate the responses. I was wondering about Leunigs - debating between that and Taste of Burlington, which also gets good reviews.
Chinese is probably not going to be our choice, as we live outside NYC and have lots of those options - was hoping for food that reflects Vermont. |
I haven't been to Taste of Burlington so I'm afraid I can't comment on that option. It does sound good.

If you could time your trip that you'll be going through Vergennes en route to Burlington at dinner time, I highly recommend the Black Sheep Bistro. You'll need a reservation.
