Burlington, Vermont
We will have a few days in Burlington. Can any of you recommend a hotel. It does not need to be high end as we will be busy (one day at Shelbourne museum, one biking and not sure about the 3rd yet. We are always interested in a nice area, sounds like the town is vibrant.

The hotels near the waterfeont are pricey, Hilton, Marriott Courtyard or Hotel Vermont but they are in the perfect location. If you find a good rate at one of them, book it!
Right off of I-89 in So Burlington, near Dorset Road, you have Comfort Inn, Homewood Suites, Holiday Inn Ezpress, Best Western Windjammer(set back from roads, quieter.) You are on the top of the hill above Burlington, near the UVM campus, a short ride down to the waterfront area.Rt.2 becomes Main Street. |
For your biking day, Burlington has a waterfront bike path which is wonderful. A section of it, to the north in Colchester, is the Bike Causeway to the Champlain Islands, It has a bike ferry for the causeway’s small opening for boats to pass through.,

Very helpful, I will check these out. Is parking a problem in downtown is we end up near Dorset Rd?

I can't wait to do the bike ride, it sounds great. Do we need to reserve a bike much in advance? I heard that Local Motion is a good place to rent. thank you,

Parking is pay at a machine, put ticket in front of windshield.. We usually find a spot to the north along bike path, near the skateboard park area, beyond the COAST GUARD Station.. Or park adjacent to Church Street in the garage and take the free shuttle bus down the hill and back up on College Street.Easy!

Yes, Local Motion is the place to rent bikes.
