Burlington downtown hotel or motel
Is the Wyndham the only hotel/motel located downtown Burlington? We are thinking of staying there 2 nights, mid-week, mid-August but rates are $198.00 at Wyndham and that is over our budget. It seems like a fun little town with restaurants and lots to do in the area. But we really like our motel/hotel to be within walking distance of restaurants. Or can you suggest another town in Vermont that has motels downtown and cute little downtown with restaurants. Thanks!

The Lang House and Willard Street Inn are the only other main lodging options in town. A Marriott will be opening downtown, but not until November.

Thanks. Unfortunately the Willard is only available for $225.00 per night. Strange because I was looking at reviews on Priceline and folks don't seem to think the Wyndham is worth being rate a 3star property. For some reason we are stuck on staying in Burlington because it seemed
like it was quaint with lots of restaurants. But now my research is leading us to the Golden Eagle Resort in Stowe. I've read lots of good reviews here on that property and it is reasonably priced and restaurants within walking distance. |
I wasn't expecting much of the Wyndham either but when I visited my dad in his room, I was surprised. (I worked in South Burlington so I have never stayed there). The Wyndham is pretty nice in Burlington and depending on your view, can be spectacular overlooking Lake Champlain.
A shame that Marriott won't be open in time for your visit. Good luck! |
Thanks and now we really can't decide what to do. Stowe was starting to look good to us. As far as towns, and staying for 2 nights, would you choose Stowe or Burlington?

Many years ago, my husband and I stayed at a hotel on the waterfront, in a corner room on the 5th or 6th or 7th floor. The view was captured in windows along two walls. It was so gorgeous. We just sat there holding hands for 90 minutes or so, relaxing after a hard day's drive and watching the twilight. I d9on;t remember the name of the hotel, but I remember it was a corner room on the 4th, 5th or 6th floor.
