All bugs on Sanibel Island committed hara-kiri on Memorial Day in the famous annual festival that attracts hordes of tourists all trying to cross the bridge at the same time.

They rake the beaches in early June so no one has to step on any sharp shells. The alligators at the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge have their teeth removed and replaced with soft plastic replicas.
