Buffets in Reno/Tahoe?

Hola! Please, can you give us suggestions for the greatest/best buffets (Dinner) in the Hotels or anywhere in the Reno/Tahoe area?

I hear they are cheap and good????

gracias!

Well, I live in Reno and they aren't as cheap or as good as they used to be. To my mind, and it seems most of the other locals who vote in the "Best of Reno" poll the local paper takes every year....the Atlantis is the best for variety and quality. I was at Harrahas a few years ago...wouldn't go back so that's why I can't tell you that it's better now, the Elderado supprisingly mediocre..I guess the Corrano's put all their food money into their upscale restaurants, which are pretty good by the way, as is Harrah's Steak House..but that isn't what you're looking for. The Peppermill is OK. I've probably been there more in the past couple of years because my SO plays there so we always have comps. I'll let someone else speak for Tahoe because I haven't been to a buffet up there in probably 20 years.

Tks crefloors! You're a wealth of info regarding Reno, so I take the liberty of posing the following additional question:

Econo Lodge, Wells Av.

Super 8, E. Gregg (Sparks)

Rodeway Inn, Market St.

Quality, SAFETY of Area, convenience to I-80, which of these 3 budget motels is the best choice? I've got to go real low this year to be able to ski Tahoe...

Thanks!

Roadway Inn on Market will put you close to the 80 and 395 interchange which is right by the Hilton. Roadway is right across the highway from the Hilton. Wells Ave. not the best at night, Greg Street is OK but more commercial area..warehouses etc. I'd take the Roadway were it me. I have never been in the place, it looks OK from the outside, and it's a pretty big chain so there MUST be some kind of standard..ya' think? If you are downtown Reno, the one place that is pretty cheap and good is the Brew Brothers. It's not fine dining by any means, but the beer's good and they have good..I guess you'd call it Pub type food. I have heard some people say they like the buffet at the Silver Legacy..it's on the second floor not far from the Brew Brothers. I ate there with friends several years ago and would not classify it at awful, a pretty good variety to pick from, and it was not horribly expensive and OK. I mean food opinions are so subjective anyway. Some people hit Mickey "D"s all the time..I can't stand it and haven't eaten a Big Mac in probably close to 30 years. So, I guess the thing to remember is, it's not your last meal.
