Buffalo to Niagara Falls

I am spending one day in Buffalo before flying out at 5 pm. Do I have time to visit Niagara Falls on the Canadian or the US side? Do I have to rent a car or there are other means of transportation? All advised would be appreciated.

Most definetly you can see the Falls on the American side in that time frame. In fact i thought the American Side was better in terms of the Falls (Canadian for entertainment). The falls are less then 30 minutes from the airport. You can reach Goat Island and tour around there. Go to Cave of the Wind (you will get wet but its awesome), The Maid of the Mist and get lots of pictures around the island.

Not sure what Transport there is to/from the airport. If all else fails, try renting a super cheap car from Priceline.

If I were you I would avoid going to the Canadian side (by car), just to be sure you dont get stuck in the border line coming back and you miss your flight.

Have fun! You may want to check the Canadian forum for more information.

When do you arrive in Buffalo? The same day you want to see the falls? Or the night before? What time of year

Where will you be going to the falls from....the airport...a hotel?

A taxi will do fine, but visiting both sides depends on your schedule and time of year.

You can rent a car for less than the cost of a one-way taxi ride, and you will have much more flexibility.

If you want to go to the Canadian side of the Falls, you can park on the US side, walk across the Rainbow Bridge, and avoid the traffic at the border crossing.

I will arrive in Buffalo the night before I want to visit the Falls. I will be staying that night at an airport hotel, my flight departs at 5 pm. This will be the first week in June. How is the weather then?

Go early, so that you'll have plenty of time left for your flight out.

The Canadian side is the BEST way to see and experience the Falls.

Consider changing to a hotel at Niagara Falls... There is nothing of interest near the Buffalo Airport and as stated earlier, it is only a short drive to the Falls.... there are thousands of rooms in Niagara in all price ranges and if you rent a car for 1 day, the price will be the same... evening in Niagara is wonderful with the falls lighted and there are dozens of restaurants and three Casinos as well as great activities and attractions... you could then get up early, hit the falls attractions, Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and any others before lunch...

after a short drive back, return the car, and catch your flight... have fun!

Definitely agree with Gary to drive to the Falls and spend the night there. IMO it would be the best use of your time.

Rent a cheapo car in Buffalo and spend the night at the Falls. The Canadian side is much better in terms of activities, hotels, restaurants, views of the Falls (floodlit at night) and the casinos.

We satyed at a Sheraton (great rate for club members - but this was 3 years ago) with an incredible view of the Falls (all rooms had a floor to ceilieng picture window looking out at the Falls over a small public park).

Just be sure to allow enough time to get back from Canada - and make sure you have your passport with you.

I am flying into Buffalo airport
and want to make my way to the rainbow bridge (canadian borders). What is the best and cheapest way to get there.... ??

What do you plan to do after you get there? I think that you'll want a car, so I would say that renting a car would be your best option.
