Can't remember anything in particular except stay on the Canadian side! The US side looks like a ghetto in comparison...there's a cable car that crosses the gorge that is pretty cool, and a tour that takes you under the falls from the rocks on the side. Skylon tower is overpriced for dinner, although everyone will tell you to go there...its been a long time, but very cool place...if you've never seen the falls you'll be blown away! Have fun!

Stay on the Canadian side definitely. The Minolta Tower had a wonderful restaurant at the top a few years ago. If you have time head north to Niagar-on-the-Lake. It is a beautiful little town with wonderful inn's. Have fun!

Stay on the Canadian side. Nicer, and 60 or so cents on the dollar. A couple of years ago we stayed at a Best Western, I believe, for about $60 US per nite for 2 rooms!

Dinner in the Marriott has a phenomenal view, but at US prices.

Definitely take the Maid of the Mist to the base of the falols. Take the underground tour that brings you behind the falls. The IMAX is worth it, too.

There's a Ripley's, or some attraction about dopes who went over the falls, or who ran the rapids. That wasn't worth it.

Getting to the US side is interesting for a different perspective, though I don't know how difficult it is to cross the border post Sept. 11. When we were there, it was like a toll booth.

You will be impressed at the scale of everything.

Depending on how adventurous you want to get, you might really enjoy the exhilarating (sp?) jet boat ride up the Niagara Rapids. NOTL also has a good theater festival each year.

You should definately check out what Buffalo has to offer. The Albright Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo Museum of Science, Buffalo Naval and Military Park, and the Buffalo Zoological Gardens are just a few attractions that make Buffalo beautiful.

The Falls is beautiful. The Maid of the Mist and the jet boat ride are thrilling. Also, the cave of the winds tour (walking tour that goes behind the falls) is nice. The Canadian side is very beautiful, lots of gardens tended to by horticultural students. there is abeautiful floral clock not to far away and a butterfly musuem-with live butterflies. NOTL is a quaint town with great shops, restauarants and fantastic theater. Many of the stars from Canada (remember Toronto is close by and is the Canadian center of TV, movies, theatre) are at the Shaw Festival Theatre doing plays in the summer. Buffalo is worth a side trip. Some great architecture, the Albright Knox Art Gallery, excellent live theater, surprising number of excellent restaurants at affordable prices, many fun summer festivals depending on when you're coming in. There is a nice theater in Lewiston, NY, not too far from N.F called Art Park which does summer musicals, some jazz concerts and a variety of other things. The theater is under cover, but the back is open to give it an outdoor feel and there is lawn seating. So far, the bridge traffic hasnt been too bad as a result of 9/11. It is always heavier in the summer. You will find the entire area fairly easy to get around. Nothing is more than 20 minutes away. Try Buffalo.com for area info.

When are you coming to Buffalo/Niagara Falls? There are some good festivals in Buffalo, for instance the Taste of Buffalo which I believe is the weekend after the 4th of July. Buffalo is definitely worth a visit. We have some great restaurants, interesting neighborhoods and plenty to do depending on your interests. If you want to respond with what you like to do I can give you some ideas. Regarding the Falls, you've already been given some good ideas to do the Maid of the Mist, Jet Boat ride and to stay on the Canadian side. Also, agree that Niagara on the Lake is a beautiful town.

Although I like Buffalo (and used to live there), I wouldn't suggest it as a tourist destination. There really isn't much of interest for a tourist. If you have an extra couple of days, I would recommend driving up to Toronto (which is less than an hour and a half from the Falls) and spending a night or two.
