Buffalo National River
 

October-November is the perfect time to float the Buffalo National River in the Ozark Mts. of northern Arkansas. The leaves are colorful and temperatures are crisp and cool. This highly-scenic river features high bluffs, large springs, clear water and a few small rapids for excitment.The river is managed by the National Park Service which always does a good job with the resources they are given. I haven't floated it in years but am wondering how crowded it gets now. Anyone know? I know to avoid weekends and holidays.
