Budget Tips for Arizona?
Hi Fodorites,
I've noticed how smart you are about being thrifty and I'd love to get your input on some Arizona-specific savings tips. One way to save is with a National Parks Pass if you're planning on visiting a lot of parks—it's $80 for the year. If you're over 62, a lifetime Senior Pass is an amazing deal at only $10. Both are good for the passholder and up to three adults. What are your favorite ways to save in the Grand Canyon state? |
Go to Tucson in July and August. Do all your activities first thing in morning, chill by pool rest of the day. Sunset drinks and watch the sun go down.

Thanks, DebitNM - Summer rates in Tucson are great, and chilling by the pool on a hot day sounds so relaxing.
For golfing, I know that green fees can be lower for a twilight rate and this is another way to beat the heat. Anyone else have other Arizona savings tips? Valley of the Sun spa discount tricks? Rt. 66 road trips on a budget? |
Here's a website for discount tee times in Tucson: http://www.golfnow.com/tucson. If you can deal with summer daytime heat you'll even more.

We go to 5* resorts in July and August and pay under $100 a night for rooms that normally goes for $700-900.
We booked the Biltmore Resort for $80.00 for a gorgeous room in July. |
I should have also added our favorite Phoenix resort, Royal Palms; they have some great summer specials.

In planning for our next trip to Arizona, I visited Visitor Bureaus online. Link http://www.visittucson.org/visitor/a...ions/passport/ features the Tucson Attractions Passport. It's a $15 purchase but provides a long varied list of 2 for 1 offers or discounts in southern Arizona to attractions we actually want to visit so would be worth it for us.
Scottsdale Visitor's Bureau offers free online discounts/coupons at http://www.scottsdalecvb.com/coupons/ Sedona C of C has a $10 Sedona SuperPass, details at http://visitsedona.com/index.php?action=article&id=262 |
