Budget accomodations in Morro Bay or SLO
 

Does anyone have any experience with the following motels or have any recomendations for other budget accomodations in Morro Bay or SLO? My husband and I are taking a weekend trip down there next month and are interested in clean comfortable lodging, but since we wont we in our room much, we are looking for something inexpensive. Thanks.

I have stayed at your number 2,3,4 on your list...all comfortable but for ME not what I would call "budget" Although the Travelodge in SLO could be in that catagory.
# 2 & 3 at my last stay averaged
$ 70 - 75 + taxes !!!!
I discovered really nice place--clean and comfortable-small rooms but adequate- for $ 60 on weekends which for MB is about the best you are going to get except for maybe "off season" rate ( meaning the dead of winter Jan., Feb.)

I stayed at a Best Western with exterior coridors. It was clean, and that's about it. The town doesn't have much to offer either. My favorite towns of the California coast are Cambria and Mendocino. Carmel was nice in the 1950s.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Monterey St. and it was fantastic! SLO is such a GREAT town-and although we have also stayed in Morro Bay twice, we found MUCH more to do in SLO...Morro is nice for a stop though.

Thanks for all the replies. The last time we were in the Morro Bay/SLO area was about 5 years ago and we thought they were both great towns. We like Cambria too, but the focus of our trip is to visit someone at Cal Poly so we wanted to stay closer to the school.
