Buckhead Atlanta July 4 Activities

We will be in Atlanta on July 4, staying at the Embassy Suites, Buckhead. We will be arriving after the Peachtree Road Race - should we still be concerned about traffic for the evening fireworks? Also, does anyone know what the best vantage point for the fireworks is and how the view would be from the Embassy Suites? Lastly, what about dinner - as July 4 is a Sunday, will restaurants that are normally closed on that day of the week be open? Any suggestions - we were thinking Oh...Maria as an option.

Traffic is awful in the Lenox area for the 4th of July fireworks. I'm not sure what the view would be like from the Embassy Suites, because there are some buildings which might block the view. Ask someone at the hotel what it's like. You can easily walk from the hotel to Lenox if you need to.
I think I noticed that Oh Maria had closed but I could be wrong on that. Since traffic will be a problem you might consider a restaurant within walking distance. Brasserie La Coze and Prime at Lenox would be possibilities, or just a little further at Phipps Plaza there's a new place called Twist that's pretty interesting.

We are looking at Nava for 4th of July dinner - anyone else want to weigh in on restaurants, traffic, best vantage point, viewing from hotel (staff says not good) or anything else. How about security?

Traffic will be an issue for the evening fireworks. I also think I noticed Oh Maria is closed. Nava is a good choice. Security should be good but there will be a large crowd. I think Brasserie LeCoze at Lenox Square would be a fun choice, and you would be in the middle of the action. Definitely try to find a restaurant that will take reservations.

Thank you - I realize Oh Maria has closed.

Incidently, Brasserie Le Coze is closed on July 4 because it is a Sunday. Anyone know if Nava is within walking distance of the Embassy Suites?

I am not sure where the embassy suites hotel is located; but Nava is close to Lenox mall. It is a wonderful restaurant. Enjoy!
